GOLD'S REVIEW RATINGS!
Gone Gold is focused
on New Releases and letting you know that they're in stores. Sure, we want to
help you make the right decisions on purchases as well, so we have the Gold
Guide for you. Head on over to
the Guide and find out what every Major gaming site
PLUS is saying about the game you're considering buying.
_______________________________________
PURE GOLD
- This is the "Mother Lode" of Gone Gold. A game rated PG is an
"A" level product, most highly recommended, and scores a 90/100. This
title is an essential purchase, and deserves a place of honor in your gaming Library.
GOLD NUGGET
- A game receiving this rating has a lot going for it, is generally a "B" level title, but lacks that
certain something bringing it to an essential purchase recommendation. If you like the genre it's in, you will
likely want to give it a try. 80-89% rating.
UNREFINED ORE
- This "C" level title has a few good ideas but due to bugs or design, just
doesn't cut it. With a big patch it might improve but generally, this one is "buyer
beware!" Be sure you buy it only with a return policy or due your research at the
Gold Guide. 70 - 79% Score.
FOOLS GOLD
- Stay away from this product! What were they thinking? This outdated or pale imitation of a better game
shouldn't have been released. It may look superficially like the real thing, but is worthless ore on close
inspection. Avoid it. 69% or below.

Kohan:
Immortal Sovereigns |
Rating: Pure Gold
|
The Quote:
"Kohan:
Immortal Sovereigns is an outstanding game. While the concept of formations
and zones is certainly not a new one, Kohan's implementation works perfectly.
The interface is a work of art and the attention to detail throughout the game
is commendable." |

The
Corporate Machine |
Rating: Golden Nugget
|
The Quote:
"The
Corporate Machine is a family diversion that most families will never hear
about. That's sad enough to make you wish it really was 1988, when there was
less on the store shelves to distract people from this very rewarding and
enjoyable game." |

Sam |
Rating: Golden Nugget
|
The Quote:
"Serious
Sam is beautiful and graphically impressive, showing a great potential
for the young development team from Croatia. I can only recommend it,
though, for those times when you want an adrenalized alternative from
the intricacies of Deus Ex or Thief 2." |

Star
Trek: Away Team |
Rating: UNREFINED ORE
|
The Quote:
"Away
Team is a decent game that is much too short (about 10-15 hours)
and much too easy. The single best mission is mission 10; if half the
missions in the game showed the creativity that mission had, then the
game would be golden." |

Waterloo:
Napoleon's Last Battle |
Rating: PURE GOLD
|
The Quote:
"The
historical setting is well used, and the variety of scenarios, both
historical and fictional, means you'll be getting a LOT of playing
time with this game. Heck, you can play it on-line, if that's your
thing, pitting your wits against your fellow Francophiles (me, I'm
still too dumb to beat the computer half the time)." |

Ford

Rating: UNREFINED ORE
|
The Quote:
"With
a wide range of customizable features, there's enough variety to keep
the game feeling fresh for a while. Unfortunately, the limited number
of cars available at the outset, combined with the difficulty of the
game is sure to keep most casual gamers away." |

Championship
Surfer |
Rating: GOLDEN NUGGET
|
The Quote:
"I
have no major complaints about Championship Surfer. I didn't hate it,
reviewing it didn't make me sad, and I don't feel my hard drive has
been sullied by its presence. Is it the sort of game I would buy? No.
Is it the sort of game a kindly mom or dad would buy their seven year
old? Definitely." |

The
Sims ~ House Party Add-On |
Rating: GOLDEN NUGGET
|
The Quote:
"For
all but the most die-hard Sims players, waiting until the price drops
ten to fifteen dollars would make the game a Must Have. Until then, an
hour of searching and downloading on the Internet will turn up
thousands of objects easily as good and even better than those Maxis
creates, even though they won't have the new animations associated
with them." |

Fallout
Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel |
Rating: GOLDEN NUGGET
|
The Quote:
"It's
the sheer number of bugs in the game that keeps Fallout Tactics from
Pure Gold status. From the minor - characters flickering next to other
objects; to the major - the game lost all of my saves except the most
recent, the bugs can't be ignored completely." |

"King

Black

|
The Quote:
"Black
& White is not unlike Orson Welles' second film, "The Magnificent
