Freddie Ljungberg's first goals for Arsenal in six months has fired the Gunners into the lead against Serie A giants Lazio at Highbury. The Swedish international midfielder scored twice in 15 minutes to put Arsenal all but through into the second phase of the Champions League. He struck first two minutes before half time when Kanu ran inside to field to find Ray Parlour, who located Dennis Bergkamp on the left hand side of the box and the Dutchman's header fell perfectly into the path of Ljunberg. The Swede then rifled the ball firmly past Marchegiani to give Arsenal the lead.. The Lazio keeper had made a number of fine saves before Arsene Wenger's men took the lead. Last week's unlikely hero against Shaktar Donetsk, Martin Keown, went close and Thierry Henry forced the visitors' keeper into action. However, Lazio had their chances, the best during the first period was from Mihajlovic. After the restart, Arsenal continued to apply the pressure. They doubled their advantage on 54 minutes when Ljunberg broke through the Italians defence to disptach a shot into the back of Marchegiani's net.
