Recently divorced Liam Gallagher proposed to his All Saint girlfriend Nicole Appleton - only for the Oasis front man to be turned down.

According to reports Liam, who got a "quickie" divorce after three years of marriage to Patsy Kensit 10 days ago, asked Nicole to be his wife just last week.

The All Saint's star was, according The Mirror, so stunned by the request for her hand in marriage that she was left speechless.

But after considering the offer, she suggested to 28-year-old Liam that it was too soon into their three-month relationship to be tying-the-knot.

But Liam should not be too disheartened. Nicole agreed to get engaged to Liam's pop rival Robbie Williams, after they had been dating for just six months.

And Nicole, 27, has also described the self- confessed 'bad boy' as "the loveliest guy ever".

Speaking about Liam recently, she said: "I'd like this to be the big one. I really would. Liam and I get on really, really well.

"He's a 100 per cent gem. He's the loveliest guy ever."

She also described how the two of them got together.

"He's been saying that he'd been watching me on TV for a bit," she said.

"And because I was a big fan of Oasis, I was 'Ooh hello' when we met.

"I wasn't as confident as I usually am."
