It is amazing to find out how true your personalities and traits can be when compared to zodiac /astrology definitions.
I am a true Libran: I was born exactly in the middle of the sign, on October 7th. The sign of balance really suits me...I am never 'middle of the road' in my opinions. I either feel very strongly for or against something. This can be very difficult when making important decisions, therefore, I always search out facts and ideas very thoroughly.
I grew up in Massachusetts, on the South Shore. In December of 1996 we moved to the mountains of E. Tennessee. It is truely a wonderful and beautiful place. I have three children, Christie, Kenny and Kayla. Two dogs, Roscoe (a Greyhound) and Aries (a Chow); two Siamese cats, Merlin PenDragon and Jade MoonMyst (and their daughter Ivory BlueMoon) and Jade's latest litter of 3; two black cats, Momma and Baby ! There is also an assortment of chickens and roosters!!!!
The metal for Librans is copper...I have loved this metal for as long as I can remember...there is something so special about it. I crafted my own wand of copper.
The Tarot Card is The Empress.....this is also the card of Hera, who is one of my favorite Goddesses. I have been drawn to her most of my life. Some say Hera is 'evil and vindictive'. But she is also the protectress of marriage and childbirth. In the Rider-Waite Tarot Deck, The Empress is pictured with a heart shaped shield with a drawing of the symbol for 'Venus' on it. And Librans are ruled by the planet Venus. Co-incidence???
My zodiac color is purple. Again this has always been my favorite color. My favorite stone is amythest - which is shades of purple.
With Libra being the seventh sign of the zodiac , it was appropriate that I was born on the 7th!!! And seven has always been my lucky number!! Another co-incidence??
I have been a witch for almost all my life....well hidden with the Catholic Church....as were my aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. What I learned from them at a young age, seemed 'normal' to me. I have done extensive reading over the years and have been actively practising for over 15 years.
I am always learning and growing. I am part of a working circle here in Tennessee...its not a coven but a group of like minded people who gather to celebrate the rituals and ideas and beliefs. Its truely wonderful to be able to share ideas and not be told 'you are wrong' or 'our way is the only way'.
I did the dedication (from Raven's book) in August 1996. As of now, I have done the Treguendas since Autumn Equinox of 1996. I have done them solitary, but to the best of my ability. For me the rituals are not so much what I say, but how I feel....peace and tranquility washes over me....its like I am totally alone with the Goddess and Gods. And I feel them touch my soul......There have been times where I can just sit for hours in my field in absolute tranquility and 'oneness'.
My altar here in Tennessee is the base of a tree that was struck twice by lightening in the summer of 1997. The tree had to be cut down (which made me sad...it was my 'grandfather tree'.). So I thought it best to ask the tree to be my altar....it is just lovely and full of life. I had it cut about 4 feet above ground and had my own blessing ceremony for it.
I am a member of the Tennessee Witches and the Pagans in Action Council for Truth (PACT); and am an ordained Minister of the Universal Life Church.
I am a rabid genealogist.....family history is most important. I believe strongly in preserving the history of one's family so it may be passed down to the next generations as well as helping us know who we are and where we came from. I love reading and collecting books on the Civil War. I love Civil War sites and finding out about my family who served in it. Another passion is researching the Etruscan culture...a most facinating peoples.
I enjoy reading JRR Tolkien and Marion Zimmer Bradley. The 'Mists of Avalon' is one of my all-time favorites. As far as music, I guess you could say that I am 'stuck' in the 50's and 60's roll 'n roll!! Altho some of todays music is ok, I still prefer 'the oldies'.
