GETTING DATES

You should always approach her in a calm, composed manner. Do not stutter and neither you should speak so softly that she has trouble understanding you. Do not "come on" to her like a dog in heat, simply approach her with a lot of warmth and friendliness.

When talking to her, try to make your conversation last for at least 3- 5 minutes. Remember, you must try to conclude your conversation with either getting her phone number or with a date. Always keep this goal in mind. Do refer to our section on Flirting, Good opening lines

GETTING THEIR PHONE NUMBER

What's the best way to get a woman's phone number? Here's the best way: "I'd like to take you out sometime, can I have your phone number?" One great trick I learnt is to ask for her e-mail address/ICQ no. as well. This way, you imply that your hip 'because your connected to the net. Be sure to always carry a pen and paper with you at all times, just for this purpose.

Don't try to pretend you have a photographic memory. This brain of ours has a habit of crashing at the most importune moments. (Sounds a whole lot like win95, doesn't it?)

THE WAITING GAME

After she gives you her phone number, how long do you wait before you call her? If she seemed interested in you, wait 5 days (this is to keep her guessing and thinking about you). If she did not seem too interested in you, wait 2 days. Unless of course she specifically asked you to call her that same evening. That definitely means she's interested. Although some may dispute this technique, the concept  behind it is pretty simple actually. You want to make her think about you. You also don't want to seem overly desperate to court her. This implies that you are suave, cool, and comfortable with women.

Should you decide to ask her out, be specific about the date.
Example: "Let's have dinner at Ponderosa Thursday night at 7 p.m. and
afterwards we can go have a drink at The Club. Is that OK with
you?"

CAUTION

Obviously, this wait-and-see technique has it's drawbacks. This is especially true if you know that someone else is trying to ask her out. In that situation, calling her quickly would definitely be the best option. Decide for yourself which method you prefer and are more comfortable with.
