This is Rodney from Tin City ... he has quite a story to tell!!
He has been living in Tin City for the past 30 years in a shack
made out of Corrugated Iron, Rodney is amazed that it took someone from
the other side of the world to reveal the unique lifestyle and his ability
to fight the adversity of the elements. Sand is a constant threat to Rodney,
at least 4 to 5 times a year his unusual dwelling is covered by sand ....
which makes living in the dunes a very exciting but dangerous lifestyle.
Without a doubt the most unique part about Roodneys lifestyle
is the way he gets his water...above you can see Rodney using a pump ...which
is connected to the underground water table ... the water he gets from
the table is extremely clean ... this water is so clean because it is filtered
through the sand ...and believe me there is plenty of sand !!

HOW TO GET TO PORT STEPHENS
BY CAR
2½ hours drive north from the Sydney Harbour Bridge via the
Newcastle Freeway(F3). Take the Freeway to it's end and follow the Pacific
Highway signs to Hexham.Cross the Bridge and take the first turn to the
right for Port Stephens coastal towns.
BY TRAIN
Take a train to Newcastle and there are buses direct from Newcastle Station.
Train times call: 131500.
BY COACH
Port Stephens buses depart Eddy Avenue, Central Station in sydney Daily
at 2.00pm.
