Your membership will help us fill this page with the faces
of Haitian children in need.

Openshar lives with both of his
parents in a poor area of Haiti.
World Vision Sponsorship will
give his parents much needed
assistance.
Thamara and her parents
live in Haiti's grinding poverty.
World Vision will help
them develop useful skills.
Gelene's situation is not unlike our other two children.
Her birthday is
October 25th, 1991.
She likes to sing and her
chore is carrying water.
She will never have
a life of plenty,
but your membership
ensures that her
basic needs met...
Mildor Geline
We don't know much about Mildor yet but we do have a nice picture of her.
Haiti is one of the worst places in the Western hemisphere to live.
Thanks, in large part, to the unending misapplied intervention
by the United States political leadership, which has allowed
successive despotic governments of Haiti
to trample of the basic human rights of Haiti's people,
especially the children.
Again and again the people of Haiti have endured
the robbery of their meager wealth by
corrupt leadership supported by the
United States government.
Now Haiti is one of the poorest nations on earth.
In the early days of the AIDS crisis Haiti was maligned
in the U.S. and Haitians endured extreme acts
of discrimination when the Haitian people were
misidentified in the U.S. media as carriers of the deadly virus.
Now children are sick, the water is filthy, the
infrastructure is in ruins and the new Haitian government
is once again under the thumb of a directionless
U.S. foreign policy.
We have asked ourselves what can we do to help these people?
After careful consideration we decided that an organization
called World Vision was the best way.

World Vision has been working in Haiti for years.
Going from village, to city, bringing help to those
children and families who are most in need.
They are firmly established in the country
and are the best hope these children have
for a future free of starvation,
disease and ignorance.

A percentage of your Membership contribution
will go directly to World Vision
and specifically help the children
whose photos we include here.

Perhaps one day Haiti will be the island paradise it once
was and it will be in part because of your help.

We are offering our help by sponsoring individual
children through World Vision
We are in no other way associated with World Vision.
We do not necessarily share the opinions or beliefs
of World Vision but we feel that World Vision
is the most effective instrument
for allowing us to directly help the children of Haiti.
