Thank you for the vague and unfounded threat.

If you choose this course of action, it will be public that you attempted
to hide the defacement from your customers, lied to them, and that all
content on your servers can not be trusted until you can show that you
have paid for an extensive security audit of your entire network.

This will cause you a lot more problems than it is worth.
