A transaction, which Eastern representatives said is “still very much up in the air,” could involve Valley Forge selling a 19.4-acre parcel south of its main campus to Eastern, which has its 92-acre main campus less than one mile away. The land under discussion is bordered by Eagle Road, Radnor Street Road and Walnut Avenue in the section of North Wayne where residences and institutions, including also Cabrini College, mix. Valley Forge’s campus is 120 acres, according to the school. Its representatives were unavailable for comment for this article. In 2007 Eastern University bought a 1.6-acre residential parcel next to its campus for administrative use for $1.25 million, according to Delaware County records. Also that year the school added a dorm, classroom building and parking lot to its campus. Last year Valley Forge announced plans for new academic facilities that would allow the school to more than double its college population to about 500 cadets. Among the options to locate the new Military College of Pennsylvania building was the parcel being discussed for sale.
