Denis Spizuoco named new Associate Vice President of Development and  
Alumni Affairs

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Denis Spizuoco as the new  
Associate Vice President of Development and Alumni Affairs. In this  
position he will be responsible for all aspects of Development, Alumni  
Affairs and Parent Relations.

Denis Spizuoco, a 1976 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania  
(Penn), began an extensive career in development and fundraising at  
his alma mater in 1986.

During his first stint at Penn from 1986 to 1998, Denis served as a  
major gift officer and was involved in the university's annual,  
regional, and planned giving campaigns.

After participating in the successful completion of Penn's billion- 
dollar campaign, Spizuoco entered business for himself and  
successfully operated a family entertainment center in Mt. Laurel,  
N.J. from 1998 to 2005

In 2005, he returned to Penn as Director of Athletic Development and  
then went on to become a Director of Advancement at the American  
College in Bryn Mawr, Pa. in 2007.

Prior to his positions at Penn and the American College, Denis spent  
nine years in the life insurance business as both as an agent and a  
manager.

In 2008, Denis completed course work at the American College and was  
awarded the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) designation.   He  
currently is enrolled in the Certified Leadership Fellow program and  
is a member of the International Association of Advisors in  
Philanthropy.
