Michael D. Krause, Ph.D. named new College Dean

We are pleased to announce the appointment of COL Michael D. Krause,  
Ph.D., USA (Ret.) as the new Valley Forge Military College Dean and  
Director of Military Affairs effective 15 July 2008.

Dr. Krause is an accomplished professional military officer, educator,  
author and businessman. He graduated with his B.A. (History), Norwich  
University, received his M.A. (Modern European History), Georgetown  
University and his Ph.D. (Modern European History), Georgetown  
University. He also holds a Diploma, U.S. Army Command and General  
Staff College, and Diploma, National War College.

While serving on active duty he was Chief, Logistics Planning Cell,  
22d Support Command, Deputy Chief of Military History and Deputy  
Commander, U.S. Army Center of Military History, Professor of Strategy  
and Military History, National War College, Battalion Commander, 3rd  
Support Command and Battalion Commander, 7th Infantry Division.

Dr. Krause has taught at: the United States Military Academy at West  
Point, University of Kentucky, University of Maryland (Far East  
Division), Chapman College, University of Maryland (European  
Division), Naval War College and American Military University.

In the civilian sector he was Owner of KRI, a strategic planning  
company for both the public and private sector; Director, Logistics  
Planning at Amazon.com and Chairman, SecureChain, Inc. doing business  
analysis and leadership development.

His awards and honors include: Member, Army Science Board; Honorary  
Research Fellow, Korean Institute for Defense Analysis and Senior  
Advisor, Reserve Forces Policy Board; awarded the Defense Meritorious  
Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Secretary of Army  
Award for Public Service, et al. He is the author of numerous  
publications.
