All,

Sticklist subscribers know that I have taken great pains to avoid  
distributing speculation, rumor, or innuendo since its inception early  
last year.  However, in the absence of an official announcement by the  
school, and given the significant interest in this topic by the Alumni  
community at large, I am passing along the following UNOFFICIAL  
information supposedly regarding our new Commandant that is making its  
rounds this week.

It is my understanding that the new Commandant of Cadets, Col. Dan  
Lentz, USAF (Ret), reported for duty at VFMAC about a week ago. I'm  
not sure what his service background is, although it appears that most  
recently he was the Professor of Aerospace Science at Virginia Tech  
(similar to the Army ROTC Professor of Military Science) and Commander  
of AFROTC Detatchment 875 at VA Tech.

Again, I have *no official corroboration or substantiation* of this  
information, so feel free to take this information as you will.

Rest assured, I will relay to you any formal announcement by the  
school regarding our new Commandant if/when it becomes publicly  
available.
