The Japanese government on Tuesday decided to sign an agreement with
the Untied States on cooperation against cyber terrorism, government
officials said.

Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Aso and U.S. Ambassador to Japan Thomas
Schieffer will sign an official note on a cooperation framework for
sharing information on computer viruses and security measures and
equipment, they said.

The Japanese Defense Agency and the U.S. Defense Department will then
exchange a memorandum on specific cooperation measures, which are to
be carried out by the Defense Agency's Joint Staff Office and the
Defense Department's Pacific Command in Hawaii.

The deal also prohibits the release of shared information to a third
country without written agreement from the other party, the officials
said.

The United States has signed a similar agreement with five countries
including Britain and Australia.
