Patent Office Director Michelle Lee resigns

Michelle Lee, director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, has submitted her resignation to Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, an administration source told POLITICO.

Lee, a former Google executive, headed the USPTO under President Barack Obama and was kept on in the position by President Donald Trump.

The reason for her resignation wasn't immediately clear.
