For those interested, here's the reported Android 2.2 Froyo upgrade for the Moto DroidX.  (You can find instructions for upgrading your device elsewhere on the net.)

I'm not a smartphone person (yet!) so I can't comment on this thing other than to reiterate the age-old geekish admonition to use at your own risk!
