Why We Call Ourselves A Pirate Party: This is the original name of our
pioneering Swedish counterpart, but it's also now common to adopt epithets
as a mark of pride and identity. The RIAA and MPAA, and later the state
hurled this term against people doing what comes naturally, sharing and
critiquing culture. So in response, we proudly call ourselves "Pirates".
Besides, pirates are just cool.
