Mission Impossible II movie review

Mission Impossible II

The Cast

Tom Cruise: Ethan Hunt
Dougray Scott: Sean Ambrose
Thandie Newton: Nyah Hall
Ving Rhames: Luther Stickell
Richard Roxburgh: Hugh Stamp
John Polson: Billy Baird

Let me start off by giving one name, "John Woo". I have been a huge fan of his work since his work in Honk Kong with Chow Yun Fat. Anyway, he directs the second film in the Mission Impossible series. This time Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) teams up with Nyah (Thandie Newton) and uber hacker Luther Stickell (Ving Rhames) to try and capture a rogue MF Agent who has stolen a lethal virus and plans to sell it for big bucks. Nyah is brought onto the team as she is the former girlfriend of Sean Ambrose (Dougray Scott) the rogue agent who stole the virus.

I admit, the story was rather stupid and predictable, but like I said, "John Woo". The action in this film was incredible as was the cinematography. To my great suprise Tom Cruise actually had some good kung foo in this movie and from what I understand he did quite a few of his own stunts. The motorcycle stunts alone were worth the price of the ticket in my opinion.

All in all if you go to this movie with the expectations of a deep plot and storyline, you probably won't be happy. They sure as hell beat out the cheezy train/helicopter crap in MI1!=).If your going to immerse yourself in 2 hours of action, this is the movie for you. Especially the last 45 minutes of the movie.
