Police say Richard Barth, 58, thought he was having sexually explicit online conversations with a 15-year-old girl, but he was really conversing with a police officer. Barth was charged with two counts of disseminating child pornography after he was accused of sending 13 pornographic images to the officer through electronic mail. According to police, Barth admitted sending messages from his office and his home, which means he could face federal charges. Two computers were seized from Barth's home and investigators were seeking his office computer, Cook County Sheriff Michael Sheahan said. Barth, of Silver Springs, Md., works as a computer systems manager on the Senate's millennium project. He was arrested in his hotel room Tuesday night.
