WALLACE NEWS-PRESS STAFF WRITER Airman 1st Class Cassandra Willoughby worked on a program warning teens not to drink and drive, but that didn't stop her from getting behind the wheel drunk. The woman based at Vandenberg Air Force Base was intoxicated when she rolled her car Oct. 22, killing herself and roommate Allison Guyer, according to toxicology results released by the California Highway Patrol. The tests indicate that Airman Willoughby had a blood- alcohol level of .18, while her passenger, Ms. Guyer, had a level of .21. The legal limit is .08. Tests showed no evidence of drugs, said CHP Officer Tony Durham. Airman Willoughby worked as a military videographer with the 30th Space Wing Communications Squadron, and as part of her job she worked closely last year on the program known as "Every 15 Minutes."
