EC-Council - "Alchmey Blog", 3/3 Articles Plagiarized

Wed Nov 30 19:50:10 CST 2011

On the EC-Council web site, they have a section titled "Alchmey Live Hacking which is a 1-day "live hacking security workshop conducted by EC-Council". This page has a news scroller toward the bottom that only flips between three articles. Each one links to a brief blog post, all of which can be seen on the December 2009 link.

The Plagiarism

Each of the three blog posts are 100% plagiarized from C|Net articles written by Elinor Mills and Stephen Shankland. In each blog, they quote enough of the original article to form a complete blog post and reformat line / paragraph breaks. They do not provide any attribution or links to the original articles. This is not acceptable as "Fair Use" either. The following table lists the EC-Council blog along with the original article.
