Highland Hospital Security Breach

Rochester, NY - Highland Hospital is warning its patients of a security breach.

A hospital spokesperson told us one computer containing patient information was stolen from one of its business offices last month. Over 13,000 people are affected.

2 laptops were stolen but only one of them had patient information on it. The one containing personal information has been recovered by investigators. The other laptop which did not have personal information on it has not been recovered.

The hospital says there is no evidence that the theives got any personal information.

The hospital is changing its security procedures in response to the incident. Highland has established an Information line for concerned patients. The number is (585) 341-0550 or toll-free at (866) 917-5043.
