The definition of hacker, cracker or Internet terrorism has been written about, discussed & ignored over and over again. The repetitive process of whom can yell the loudest and who is heard, who is remembered, who is forgotten. Who the hell cares? Remembering a time when you could sit at home working on a project, weither it is exploring an operating system, building devises or writing code/software. Not even aware of what a hacker is apart from what your friends refer to you as, as they poke their head around the door of your lab and yell at you to get your hacker ass down to the party you are supposed to be hosting. Not even realizing that you break the law on occasion, until later when it occurs to you, then shrugging it off hopping no one sitting on the other systems have noticed. Things seemed simpler then. No one cares what you know & what you don't know. Each person has their own skill set and that's all that's needed. The more you explore the more you learn. The more I think about the public's idea of hacker or cracker the more people are right when they say "there are no female hackers" The female species don't care about defacing web sites unless its their security that has been compromised. You will never hear of their achievements. For what they have done they have done for themselves. No one else. When did all this change? For I remember the men were like this too. Once upon a time I could sit with a group of people who shared knowledge as they like me, could not find many people who could understand the love of exploration. Sharing the seed of imagination. To explore new possibilities, reporting back with humorous failures & exciting breakthroughs. When did this new public hacker hype start? Why does it annoy me so much? & Why the hell do I care?
