MAXINE, LADY J & BLUES RATIO
Review: Lady J Event: Live Venue: Chars has the Blues, Phoenix, Arizona Date: Every Tuesday 9pm - midnight![]()
I love to sit down and relax to blues. Finding a quite dark corner is not hard to find at chars, although you won't be alone for long, the atmosphere of the place has you up dancing, waving out to people you meet all of 5 minutes ago as if you have known them a life time. before you know it the night is over, and all too soon. Watching Lady J sing is enchanting, she has you spellbound with the power of her voice hitting every note right on que, she makes it all look so easy. her Mother Maxine sings along with her daughter and they make a wonderful team. Maxine jokes to the band and audiance constantly, adding that personal touch. My favorate has to be when George Bowmen joins in on a duet with Lady J. they have somthing that just sparks. weither it is professionlism or they work together alot i don't know, but they are at ease with one another which shows. George Bowmen is bringing out a CD shortly with songs sung by Lady J. of corse what is a singer without a band?...and what a band to. Blues Ratio get right into their music and watching them play is a show in its own. You can catch them all down at Chars has the Blues 4631 N. 7th Ave, Phoenix, Arizona. Live every Tuesday night.![]()
