Topic: A new version of linuxconf, 1.16r3.1, fixes several bugs in the previous version, 1.14r4, as shipped in Red Hat Linux 6.0 2. Bug IDs fixed: 2521 2613 2633 3066 3168 3. Relevant releases/architectures: Red Hat Linux 6.0, all architectures 4. Obsoleted by: None 5. Conflicts with: None 6. RPMs required: Intel: [13]ftp://updates.redhat.com/6.0/i386/ [14]linuxconf-1.16r1.3-1.i386.rpm [15]linuxconf-devel-1.16r1.3-1.i386.rpm Alpha: [16]ftp://updates.redhat.com/6.0/alpha/ [17]linuxconf-1.16r1.3-1.alpha.rpm [18]linuxconf-devel-1.16r1.3-1.alpha.rpm SPARC: [19]ftp://updates.redhat.com/6.0/sparc/ [20]linuxconf-1.16r1.3-1.sparc.rpm [21]linuxconf-devel-1.16r1.3-1.sparc.rpm Source: [22]ftp://updates.redhat.com/6.0/SRPMS [23]linuxconf-1.16r1.3-1.src.rpm 7. Problem description: linuxconf 1.14r4, as shipped with Red Hat Linux 6.0, can be confused when other packages (such as samba, wu-ftpd, bind, etc.) that is can configure are added or removed. In addition, some bind and dhcpd configuration files were not correctly parsed, and linuxconf's sendmail configuration could incorrectly generate new sendmail.cf files. 8. Solution: For each RPM for your particular architecture, run: rpm -Uvh filename where filename is the name of the RPM. The linuxconf-devel package is optional; it is only needed to develop new linuxconf modules. If you do not install the new linuxconf-devel but still have the old linuxconf-devel installed, use the command: rpm -e linuxconf-devel so that you do not have out-of-sync packages. 9. Our key is available at: [24]http://www.redhat.com/corp/contact.html You can verify each package with the following command: rpm --checksig If you only wish to verify that each package has not been corrupted o tampered with, examine only the md5sum with the following command: rpm --checksig --nopgp 10.
