CERT Coordination Center advisory CA-99-08-cmsd reports a vulnerability in the Calendar Manager Service daemon, often named rpc.cmsd This vulnerability allows all systems running the Calendar Manager Service daemon, frequently distributed with the Common Desktop Environment (CDE) and Open Windows. At the moment this vulnerability is very popular and being exploited in a significant number of incidents reported to us as well as to the CERT/CC. An exploit script was posted to BUGTRAQ.
