CERT Coordination Center advisory CA-97.21 "SGI Buffer Overflow
Vulnerabilities" reports a vulnerability related to buffer overflows of
several IRIX programs.

This vulnerability allows local users to gain root privileges.

This advisory provides solutions and workarounds in section III.

CERT-NL recommends to implement the the solutions and workarounds mentioned
in the advisory.
