This comprehensive document covers common and known security holes under the UNIX Operating System. It replaces the old UNIX checklist SA-93.06.UNIX.Security.Checklist. DO NOT continue to use this old checklist as some of the content is now invalid. The checklist can be retrieved via anonymous ftp from the location ftp://ftp.auscert.org.au/pub/auscert/papers/unix_security_checklist_1.0 It is AUSCERT's intention to continue to update this checklist. New versions will be placed in the same area on the ftp server and should be checked for periodically.
