Subject: Remember mindless dribble?

Hey there,

A small back story to start: My boss was doing a search on my military unit
and apparently came across a page on your postal site with a picture of my
platoon and a rant that I wrote at request. He asked me about it and I had
completely forgotten about the whole thing. That got me thinking and I
searched through my archived emails and reread the amusing conversation we
had a couple of years ago. I am of course back in Iraq and actually getting
close to ending my military career and just figured I would drop you a line
to see how life was in your neck of the woods. I am just bored again and you
see what happens to bored soldiers. I apologize for the lack of wit and
humor in this one, but for some reason, that part of me has just been beaten
into the ground during my time in the military. I shall be returning to the
civilian world soon enough, so maybe some of that will come back. Either
way, just figured I'd say hey.

Joe

Hate to hear you are back in Iraq, glad to hear your are almost done with
the career in the military. Life here is about the same, doing my own
thing, spending a lot of time working on various projects including OSVDB
(non profit vulnerability database). Aside from attrition, I do enough
work to get by and mind my own business. I won't dare speak to you, let
alone preach to you, about the current world affairs and politics. Just
know that you are over there doing something 90% of "patriotic" Americans
wouldn't do.

When you return to the states, you owe me another mail. Humor or not,
doesn't matter. And as always, if you or yours want to mail us, feel free
to do so. Be glad to put up more on postal regardless of what it is.

Jericho

Jericho,

My we are up early in the morning on a Monday. I never get email responses
back that fast. Glad to hear that you are doing well. I will certainly send
you an email when I get back to the states. I spend most of my time these
days on the job hunt. I do appreciate the offer to go up on postal, but I
think I shall stick with once for infamy. I actually post a rant a day now
on one of my blogs. I try to stay away from political news these days with
how depressing it is. Not much I can do about it from over here, so I just
tend to stick my head in the sand with that stuff. Oh well, keep up the good
work

Joe
