The new version 2.1.1 no longer detects web server certificates (using -ssl parameter) - I've confirmed this with activestate perl on windows and perl on ubuntu. What am I missiing?

Can you capture your output (scrub as necessary) so we can see what you mean?

It's a bug introduced due to our trying to remove global variables. You  
can blame me for this one!

I've raised this as a critical bug #147
