I am searching for info about this truck. I cannot find info (eg books) on these models, only on the 3/4 and 1/2 ton trucks. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I have also had 72 blazers, 2 one lifted with a 427 big block and 40" tires, and the other dropped, with a small block. I love these trucks.

Got this truck from a doctor who bought it brand new, it has never left Arizona. Needs alot of little things, but has a straigh body with only minor dings. For the right price I might consider selling. Metal parts are easier to find out here since rust ng is minor. If you need any info on salvage yards you can E-Mail me and I can try to help with some phone numbers or something.

My truck has only seen about 3 months of winter driving ever. Thank god! Original paint and cab corners are still perfect, which people have trouble believing. 307V8, original TH400, and coming up to 108000 miles. I bought the truck in april of 1990 f om an old man in Vulcan, Alberta with 43900miles on it. He pulled it out of the garage in spring and pulled a tent trailer to go fishing with his wife. This truck has never been abused. I put a propane conversion on it 2 weeks after I bought it which h s extended the life of the motor. I do not have to add oil between the 3000 mile intervals. Original rear shocks and the brake drums were turned for the first time in 31 years. The valves are probably taking a beating by now with those old original hea s. Propane does not lubricate them at all. Seat is not ripped and the wood floor is still very good condition. Most of the front end is still original. I am overkill when comes to maintainance. 3 core rad. I dont think you have to worry about a 307 verheating anyways that radiator is still original too. 12 MPG (imp.GAL) is all it gets whether it is hwy or cty. I may sell it though, it is tough to let it go.

I have restored my 1970 pickup. It is cherry red and beautiful. My wife gave it to me as a gift about 10 years ago. I have driven it to work daily. It has only 130K miles. My son and I will complete a value job this summer. The 350 engine is easy to work n. What a learning experience! He is 16 and will drive it to school. We are restoring it inside and out. I bought this truck from an old lady who was going to give it to the salvation army. I bought it from her and have been fixing it up. I fixed the bad valve cover gaskets, bad transmission lines, bad oilpan gasket, and stripped out starter bolts. Despite all the abuse, the motor never had a single thing done to it beside oil changes and tune ups and the same goes for the transmission even with its horendous leak. when I almost gave up because I thought it was too much work for such a bad shape common che enne, I found a warranty paper with a metal stamp plate. It turns out that my truck was special ordered from the factory by the old lady's grandfather who got it with every option that chevrolet had to offer that year. It even had a 300 horse 350 inste d of the normal 260 horse motors that most had. it had air custom seats and door panels which I am sad to say can't be found at any store. this truck was driven from the factory to the beaches of florida where it resided for 18 years before coming to hous on. what I would like to know is if you knew anybody who could find me a 300 horse 350 and a complete cab for my truck. I will send pics at a later time.

The pickup came stock with a 250 and a three on the tree. It has a replacement 250 that came from a stock car, with dual exhaust. I can't hook up dual exhaust because one of the ports is directly over the cluthch linkage. The engine seems to be in good hape. Could I just block off the offending port and use single exhaust?

I am going to be restoring this vehicle soon. I'd like to know how I can restore the vehicle at low cost, and some pointers on changing the drums to disks brakes, and how to change the rear end axel from a six to a five lug. I am in Arizona, so if there is anyone in the area, let me know or mabey you could recommend some good shops or stores that I can check out. Thanks, I hope I hear from you or someone soon.

My '72 needed paint and body work since the day I got it in '85, and for the last couple of years I've considered stretching it to make an extra-cab truck so the family can go camping. Last summer the brain-storm became a reality. The cab is now 27&3/4 inches longer, seats 6, and has a third door on the passenger side that opens suicide-style. Handles great, gets lots of looks too.

First vehical I ever bought was a 1970 med blue c-10 step side (250 close ratio stock 4-speed)must have driven 500,000 miles with it and never had a major problem. I sold the blue goose in 93 and bought a 72 cheyenne short box 350/350 and am still in the estoring phase. I have been looking for parts since the 70's and have seen alot of trucks all over the northwest. Some of the parts I came across are stock posi rear ends, tach units, cruise controls, ralley wheels, tilt unit, and big blocks. I remembe seeing excellent cabs and boxs at many yards back in the 70's & 80's. I also remember seeing a few wrecks of the 67-72 trucks, I was curious how the gastank in the cab would survive (and the person of course). When I worked for the US Forest Service as a firefighter in 1977 in North Bend, Wa I saw a 1968 longbed (driven by a teen) wrap the cab around a light pole and not explode( I mean the cab was indented halfway) so after that I was more at ease. Also a few years back a bank robber driving north on -5 on the Vancouver, Wa side flipped 4 or 5 times and landed on the cab top and did not blow(of course he was not wearing his seat belt) any way sorry to ramble on but this truck has been good to me always and I don't need a computer science degree to tun it up. I will get back when I have fixed up my new old friend.

My truck is GM Med blue (skyblue). It is a nifty stepside with the spare tire mount on the bedside. It is a farmerman's truck with a L6-250cid, manual disc brakes, manual steering, no radio, no a/c, chrome bedtubes, custom wheels, dual exhaust, class-IV hitch (I installed myself). It is also the very classic & wonderful 3-speed on the tree. I love my truck & it's towing motor. In fact, just this weekend I towed my fiance's '82 Dodge Ramcharger from Hayden Lake, Idaho to Tacoma, Washington & still got 300 miles to a tank. She is a trooper. I plan on installing a bigger motor in the future, but I love my G-pa truck dearly. I think '67-'72 is the best bodystyle that GM ever came out with. Very nice even now.

i have had my truck now for 3 years and each year i make improvements to an already good solid truck. first year was new rear chrome sport bumper and reupholistered the interior. last year it was a new 350 with all the edelbrock elite series goodies, carb, ntake,k&n, headers, new 700r4 tranny. this spring it is new paint job ,and complete redo of oak bed with polished stainless bed strips, etc. then i will be happy and broke at the same time. you've got a great informative web page , enjoy the message board nd now that i have found this page will be an avid reader and contributor. hope to see more guys from western canada on your site, keep up the great work. avid reader and classic chevy owner. My father and I both have Chevys.I have a '69 Custom LWB w/a wood bed. It's about 95% original w/a rebuilt 350. My father has a '68 CST with the works. It's got a 396, which he rebuilt in to a monster about 15 years ago. the rest of the truck is about 80% original. Both trucks are in great shape and run better than anything new. Now their exempt in California, which makes it easier to keep them running great. This is an awesome site, keep it up.

I hope to have it done by July of 1999, I started in January of98. I,m still looking for ideas on paint schemes, nothin to wild, but definently eye catching.I want somthing to compliment the 370 H.P.engine i'm putting in it so it doesn't just lookfast, but also sounds fast. My grandfather was the original owner(from NE), he took great care of the drivetrain but needed a paint job. So I painted it lime green, gave it a 4" suspension lift, 35" tires and a winch for when I get stuck in the mud. I've had it for 5 years now, and love every minute of it. I'm in the midst of buying a 1971 GMC suburban from Texas, I can't wait!

Have owned truck since 1977 of which a full restoration was done for car shows(World of Wheels). In later years I have driven it all over the country. Very nice stock looking truck with many newer updates. Changes or additions from bare bones original inc ude: Factory A/C, 283V8, P/S, P/B, 1978 4x4 6 lug factory 8 inch rally's, Tilt column from 1979 Chev van, Cruise from 1975 Impala, Factory tach cluster, New factory wiring harneses, Bucket seats and console from 1969 CST, 14" Grant GT Steering Wheel, Etc. I am interested in replacing the Powerglide trans to a 700R4 with Lock-Up converter capability. It is great to see a Website devoted to (and I am biased) such an awesome and good looking series of trucks, 67-72.

My truck has been in the family for a while. I love it cause its dependable and it isn't one of these new "plastic" toys which costs $35K. I found your page to be very helpful and I regularly check it out. Keep up the great service!

Dad bought the 72 new and now it's mine. She's purty. Blew the engine in the 66 and now it's a lawn ornament.
