Need some help Cracking a password

I'm working on getting to the next lvl in rank (I'm on the fingerprint thing [what significance does that little ani have any way?]) I looked at the source and found the cyphered password in the form that a UNIX password would be in -> zebulun2:(cyphered password)
how do I take that and make it into a file that Cracker jack or john the ripper can crack?
Is there a better way to decypher this password?
