BigYellow is a yellow pages directory to over 16 million businesses in the USA. To increase response time, it is recommended that you first specify a locality to search. You can also narrow a search by specifying a business name and/or categories. Multiple selection criteria may be entered for category, state, or city, by separating entries with semicolons. Search tips are provided as well as answers to frequently asked questions. You can add your URL to your listing in the directory if you want to pay money for the service which is why I do not provide a link to that function. There is apparently no way to get your business listed in this directory if it is not listed. BigYellow is produced by NYNEX Information Technologies Company. The company states, "There's a lot of stuff on the Web that can't be found in BigYellow." This is an understatement. At this time, the BigYellow directory contains very few links to the web. The few links that are available (numbered in the thousands) are advertisements. To assist you in finding information on the web, BigYellow offers a Shopping Advisor which is linked to fifty categories of information resources on the web. This is a very commercial site that solicits your advertisements in their yellow pages. BigYellow has a page where you can explore the web using other internet search engines. BigYellow has essentially no value added services compared to the other yellow page directories on the web. (8/5/96)
