We are situated in Thabazimbi (South Africa) from where we cater for all international safari groups for BIG GAME hunting and Photographic Safaris.Our goal at LYON SAFARIS is to determine the needs of the sportsman who has the urge to experience unspoilt Africa, whether it be as a hunter or a photographer. We make it our responsibility to meet your needs in harmony with nature conservation. LYON SAFARIS was founded in 1995. We are based in the Thabazimbi bushveld, situated in the Northern Province of South Africa. Our success in this short period of time speaks for itself when you look at our satisfied world wide client base. Our motto is for you to arrive as a client and to return home as a friend. Hennie Badenhorst is the owner of LYON SAFARIS and a member of SCI and PHASA. He was born in Standerton, South Africa and his love for nature and hunting was inhereted from his father, Hans Badenhorst, who was a big game hunter himself. His father first purchased the Lyon Safari Area on the Limpopo river. On completion of his studies, Hennie moved to the Safari Area, from where he started hunting full-time. In 1995 he became a Professional Hunter and founded LYON SAFARIS. The region is famous for it's unspoiled bushveld. Vistas of mountains and plains populated with Acacia and majestic Leadwood trees. Savannas inhabited by herds of game and prolific bird-life. Roaring seasonal rivers reduced to strung-out waterholes in winter, and last, but certainly not least, the hospitality of the people. The Limpopo River separates the area from Botswana, making this the ideal territory for Bushbuck, Waterbuck and a great variety of other species of plainsgame. This mighty river is the region's lifeblood and attracts a magnificent array of birds and game, making it a paradise for hunters, tourists and nature lovers. It's a comfortable four-hour drive from Johannesburg International Airport to the area. Charter flights to the area are also available.
