Experts say when you choose to become intimate with someone, you're having sex with every person they've ever slept with. "I think if I had the opportunity to do a little background research on my new partner I'd be very interested in knowing, I'd probably be a little bit curious." And you should be curious. Because of diseases like aids, knowing your partner's past could be a real life saver. "I think it's very important of course you want to know if your health is in danger." In the past, we've had to trust our partner to be honest about his or her sexual history. but now, the internet could be replacing trust with a high tech way to peek into your partner's past. Lish Daelnar, Sex Chart Author, says "People are very secretive and yet want all the secrets revealed to them." Lish Daelnar runs this on line sexual background check of sorts. It's a site where people send in the names of everyone they've had sexual relations with. Other people can then log on and check out their partner's past. It's filling up every day with real names, nick names, initials and screen names from all across the country. "You know it started from this little thing and now it's grown and grown and grown." Daelnar wants her identity hidden because she's gotten threats from people whose names have ended up on the list. "Oh -- I've gotten threats for lawsuits and someone who wanted to come over and break my knees." Of course, the chart relies on the honesty of people who submit names. And believe it or not, there are some star studded connections. Daelnar says "So for famous names on the chart we've got Trent Reznor, Jello Biafra, Drew Barrymore is on there, Sara Gilbert, Courtney Love came on." More than 14-hundred names are on the list right now. But keep in mind, it does not list who has sexually transmitted diseases, only who has had intimate affairs. "It's sexual contact, I count a link as anything which is wet kissing plus I coyly refer to that as anything that can pass an STD. But we talked with some people who think an online sex chart is a diagram for trouble. "Obviously it's gonna cause relationships to break up." "I think they'd feel like their privacy is being invaded." And other's would never want to see their name there. I would probably want to know who put it on there, I think I'd be upset because I think that's sort of a form of slandering, I wouldn't want my name associated with that. Delnar says that's why many of the names listed are nicknames or screen names. But you have to wonder, why would someone do this? "Sitting in the privacy of my home, hiding behind my monitor and keyboard - this is something I do for fun." and it's growing by the hour, proving trust in love may be as outdated as the typewriter.
