Unmoderated forums are home to the lowest forms of life on the 
internet. I have seen countless forums that made me want to tear out my 
hair by the roots. Public mailing lists come in at a close second for 
most infuriating internet creation, but are saved from first place 
because in general they better moderated than forums. 

Before anything gets added to either the forums or mailing lists 
category here it really must prove its worth more so than blogs or 
sites in general. So, please, be careful when recommending or visiting 
lists/forums.
