Personal information on 120 patients has gone missing at Tokyo University Hospital, officials of the institution said on Thursday.

The lost documents contain the birthdates of the inpatients, their telephone numbers and the names of their illnesses.

The documents were kept at a nurse station at the hospital in Tokyo's Bunkyo-ku. Doctors noticed they were missing on June 11. Officials lodged an apology with the patients involved.
