Loudoun Authorities Issue Warning Over Stolen Receipts

Loudoun County authorities have a warning for shoppers who used a credit or debit card Saturday at a Linens 'n Things store in Sterling.

Sheriff's spokesman Kraig Troxell says a folder holding about 90 receipts was taken from the store sometime around 8 p.m. The receipts show both the full account number and the name of the credit or debit card holder.

Authorities say the information on the receipts could be used to create a fake card or to make fraudulent online purchases. Shoppers are ugred to contact their bank or credit card company.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact investigators.
